Welcome to the English Bowls Umpires Association.

The EBUA is the unified governing body for qualified Bowls Umpires in England.

We are responsible for appointing Umpires to any events as requested by the local, national and international governing bodies of the Sport of Bowls.

Our umpires undergo an intensive training and development program from new candidates through to experienced international officials.

25th August 2017

Annual Bowls match between EBUA and EIBA.

The Association has been challenged to a game against the EIBA on the 15th November 2017 at Melton Mowbray commencing at 2pm.

Jessie Clarke has been charged with finding a team, and she would welcome any marker or umpire within easy travel distance of Melton Mowbray to put their names down to play.
She is looking for about 8 players.

If anyone would like to play in this game could they let Jessie know by e-mail.

Mr. John Davies.

It is with regret that we have to report the death of John Davies of Dorset.

John had been the Area Secretary for the South West area of the Association for many years, only having stood down earlier this year. John was a familiar face in the Umpires Office at the National Championships at Worthing for many years and was made a Life Member of the Association at the AGM in April this year.

John was also a Director of the World Bowls Tour and a regular face behind the scenes at WBT events .

John's funeral will take place at Poole Crematorium, Gravel Hill, Broadstone, Poole BH17 9BQ at 2:30pm on Wednesday 2nd August, followed by refreshments at Dolphin Indoor Bowls Club, Waterloo Road, Poole BH17 7LG.
